Magnificat

Magnificat

This setting of the latin text of the Magnificat uses both pure triadic voicings and contemporary elements to create a work rich in contrast The five movements include a fierce opening chorale, a haunting soprano solo on Omnes Generationes, an intricate contrapuntal scherzo setting of Quia Fecit Mihi Magna, a battle cry in dense clusters on Fecit Potentiam, and a closing, triumphant Suscepit Israel.
